Exercise Library

Our exercises have been specifically selected to activate individual muscles that are inhibited or underperforming, in order to create greater cohesion and balance in movement.

In a chain of command of muscles working together or antagonistically, a weak link or an overactive muscle can cause unnecessary burden to be placed on individual or groups of muscles, which leads to pain and dysfunctional movement.

To maximise the benefits of our activation exercises, aim to perform each exercise for a minimum 15 second hold, at least three times per day. In the initial stages, performing them more frequently can bring additional advantages, as the activations have a cumulative effect in promoting balance, strength, and enhanced function. As your pain subsides, consider maintaining the activations at a reduced frequency to mitigate the potential for pain recurrence. This approach has been developed to simplify the rehabilitation process and is a foundation to build upon. Progressive exercise in the form of mobility, stability and strength building exercises will be given when appropriate to maximise your physical capacity.
